PERSONAL PROFILE

Drago Domazet was born in Banja Luka in 1951.

At the age of 15, he discoveres his love for art. and decides to enroll in the highly acclaimed 'High School Of Fine Arts'. Having proven his great talent for painting and drawing, after graduation the master continues his studies at the Academy Of Fine Arts.

After 5 years of extensive studying, he receives his postgraduate diploma in 1972 having already established himself as one of former Yugoslavia's leading young artists.

In 1974, he started exhibiting his work throughout Yugoslavia and Europe. It does not take long before his paintings face positive criticism and reviews from his fellow artist and the general public. This makes him one of the most recognizable artists at the time.

Throughout 20 years of exhibiting in a number of foreign galleries, the artist manages to sell well over 300 paintings that went to private and public collections.

Looking for new inspiration and challenge, in 1997 Drago moves to USA where he continues to exhibit his work. His recent work was inspired by the new surroundings which brings different flavour to his extensive portfolio. He currently lives and works in Hamtrack, Michigan.
